Drawn on: 5-18-09 | I drew this while at the house of my friend who lives an hour and a half away now. She is a painter, and we decided to paint together. I'd never painted before, so I drew out my figure on paper before I sketched it on the canvas, and this is her. The canvas was longer than I expected, so I ended up having to add more on, but this is still generally what I wanted. Unfortunately, after spending a total of 7 hours on the paintings--my friend also decided to paint a person, but she can't draw people, only animals, so I drew hers too--I had only finished the crappy-looking background, skin, eyes, and put a little paint on the dress, and it's kind of a disaster. The skin ended up okay, but I botched the eyes and especially the eyebrows since my friend didn't know how to make a good-looking blond hair color and, not being a painter or a colorist, neither did I, and the dress is supposed to be this dark green and I was using a bad kind of brush for it and *sigh* it's a disaster. But I spent seven fricking hours on this. Next time I visit her I *am* going to finish the stupid thing.
